Sebastian Klever started his career at Lintas in Frankfurt as a junior copywriter. He subsequently worked as a copywriter at Kastner & Partner and later went on to become Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather Direkt (OgilvyOne). 

This was where Sebastian Klever and Oliver Hönnicke first crossed paths in 1990, and since then they have been working together. In 1998 they established the Relationship Marketing Group agency for WPP Holding. Klever assumed the commercial management while Hönnicke was in charge of the creative activities. In 2001 they set up the agency Jung von Matt/1:1 as copartners where they played an executive role until 2005. They established crossland GmbH in 2005.
